AN UNLUCKY lamb required the help of firefighters to escape a canal on Sunday.
Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service was called at around 8.30pm with reports of an animal which needed rescuing from water in Ellesmere Canal.
One fire engine from Ellesmere attended the incident.
The crew was at the scene for around 40 minutes and was able to rescue the lamb from the water.
