MOBILE Covd-19 Testing Units are returning to Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain and Llandrindod Wells.

Two mobile testing units will be in both areas from Monday, March 29.

The appointment-only testing units will return to the same location as two months ago in Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain at the FC Social Club, and to County Hall in Llandrindod Wells. Both testing units are by appointment only and provide a drive-through service.

The mobile testing units are part of our wider testing programme here in Powys alongside national testing centres in Newtown and Brecon where you can walk, drive or cycle for a test, and a further two Community Testing Units based in Builth Wells and Welshpool for a drive-through appointment.

Mobile testing ensures residents have access to COVID-19 testing as close to home as possible. Residents who are feeling symptoms but are unable to attend a mobile testing unit can request a Home Testing Kit, delivered to your home.

The mobile testing facility will continue to move to other locations across Powys to help ensure people have access to testing unit where there is a need.

All testing units are available by appointment only for people with symptoms. These are: a new continuous cough, high temperature (fever), loss of or change to sense of smell or taste.

With new variants of the virus that can spread more easily now circulating everywhere in Wales, it is more vital than ever that if you are feeling unwell, are showing any signs or symptoms of coronavirus, you must first self-isolate immediately, and book a test as soon as possible.

Please remember, all of Wales is in lockdown (alert level 4) where people must follow national guidelines and:

- stay local

- you can meet outdoors with up to four people from two households

- maintain social distancing

- wash your hands regularly

- work from home if you can

- wear a face covering in shops and other indoor public places, unless you have a reasonable excuse not to do so.

Everyone should follow this guidance whether or not they have received COVID-19 vaccination.

More information about what we will all need to do at Alert Level 4 is available from the Welsh Government Website at What you need to do at alert level 4.
