Despite the restrictions on daily life because of the pandemic, lawyers at Lanyon Bowdler have continued to provide help and support to people and businesses in the Oswestry area.

New working practices were swiftly introduced, with the majority of staff working from home and client meetings taking place via video call or telephone, meaning people were always able to stay in contact, even during the strictest of lockdowns.

The team in Oswestry has been boosted in recent months, with experienced lawyers Stewart Smith and Charlotte Nutting joining associate solicitor Tania McGee, who has been with the firm since January 2018, in the commercial property department.

Living in Oswestry since 2005, Stewart said he was delighted to finally be working in his hometown.

“Although I have lived in Oswestry for more than 15 years, this is the first time I have actually worked in the town,” he said.

“My job is about helping people through unfamiliar legal processes that can be confusing and stressful when dealing with a property transaction, and I am really looking forward to working with people and businesses here in Oswestry.

“The property market has actually been really busy despite the pandemic, and plenty of properties have been changing hands, which bodes well for the future.”

Also joining the commercial property team recently is Charlotte Nutting, who deals with all aspects of commercial property and specialises in acting for developers, charities and the leisure and hospitality sector.

Praveen Chaudhari, head of commercial property at Lanyon Bowdler, said: “Our commercial and agricultural property client base is expanding all the time and we envisage even greater growth during 2021 as the world hopefully returns to a level of normality.

“While we are looking forward to restrictions being eased, we do need to remind clients that we are still asking them to contact us by phone or email in the first instance, as our Oswestry office is only open for pre-arranged meetings.

“However, we are still very much here for you, and are always available to assist with any legal issues you may have.”
