THE wife of former Wales manager Chris Coleman has quashed rumours of him becoming the next manager of The New Saints.

On Thursday reports linked Coleman, who also managed Sunderland and Fulham, with the position and the task of reclaiming the Cymru Premier League from Connah's Quay Nomads.

But later that day Coleman's wife Charlotte took to social media to deny the claims.

In a tweet addressed to another media outlet, Charlotte said: "You may want to fact check your story. No truth what so ever!"

The New Saints owner Mike Harris has also remained tight-lipped over his next choice for the Park Hall hot-seat, declining to comment on the reports that Coleman was one of the candidates.

It is believed that Saints are currently at the stage of finalising a shortlist of candidates, with Harris previously stating he had been impressed with the standard of applicant.
