LICENSED venues across England have received a 'lifeline' with the news that pubs have got the green light to serve takeaway drinks in the road map out of lockdown.
Pubs will be able to serve takeaway drinks from April 12, Downing Street has confirmed.
In a 'lifeline' to venues, Prime Minister Boris Johnson's spokesman has said once beer gardens reopen during step two of the road map out of lockdown, Britons will be able to get a takeaway pint.
With this in mind, here are some of the beer gardens you might want to visit in north Shropshire (and Cheshire) when possible.
Townhouse – Oswestry
Self described as bringing 'a contemporary dining experience to the area within it’s elegant Georgian exterior', the Townhouse is well worth a visit.
Ye Old Vaults – Oswestry
One of Oswestry's traditional pubs, with a large beer garden and real ale on offer.
The Oak – Oswestry
Another one of Oswestry's classic pubs, The Oak is described as 'relaxed and unspoilt pub'.
The Red Lion – Ellesmere
The stable buildings in the Red Lion's beer garden are the original stables that would have been used for the horses provide an interesting backdrop to your pint.
The Bull's Head – Whitchurch
The Bull's Head features the only grass beer garden in Whitchurch, as well as serving a wide selection of draught beers, wines and spirits.
The White Bear – Whitchurch
The White Bear has not long since had a refurbishment, and it's beer garden is spacious, with the pub serving an interesting variety of beers and ales.
Willeymoor Lock – Whitchurch
If you want nothing more than to while away the day next to a scenic canal then look no further than the Willeymoor Lock, just outside Whitchurch.
