SEVERAL people have been hit with fines after police stopped a ‘large number’ of vehicles heading to Powys beauty spots, Welshpool Police confirmed on Friday.
Vehicles were turned around at Lake Vyrnwy and Llanrhaeadr Waterfalls, the police force confirmed on Twitter on Friday afternoon.
A spokesman also confirmed on social media that traffic reports were submitted for several vehicles with no license or insurance.
A post on the Welshpool Police Twitter page read: “Large volumes of vehicles heading towards Lake Vyrnwy and Llanrhaeadr Waterfalls have been turned around, fines have been given out for breaching Covid-19 regulations.
“Five traffic reports submitted for vehicles with no insurance and no license.”
