A POPULAR charity organisation in Ellesmere that gives access to waterways holiday for those who cannot always have it says it hopes to be back in spring.
The Lyneal Trust, which takes disabled, ill or injured people for trips along the Llangollen Canal, took to social media to remind people that with the ongoing lockdown and restrictions in both Wales and England, they are unable to carry out work.
But a spokesman said that a date has been set for late March for a potential, if yet-to-be unconfirmed, reopening.
They said: "A reminder that the towpath through Chirk Tunnel and across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct on the Llangollen Canal have been closed for winter works and are due to reopen on March 20.
"We hope we'll be allowed to send the Shropshire Lass and the Shropshire Maid out from Easter onwards, depending on government decisions in England and Wales of course."
