DESPITE difficulties posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, an Oswestry-based golf club has kept up its commitment to raise funds for a local charity.

Mile End Golf Club, which annually raises funds for Hope House Children’s Hospice, has made its annual donation to the charity.

Club captain Jaz Heer presented a cheque for £1,000 to Lynsey Kilvert of Hope House.

Mr Heer said the club was happy to be able to show its support for the charity once again.

“Since opening almost 30 years ago members of Mile End Golf Club have annually raised thousands of pounds for local charities,” he said.

“For many years Hope House has been one of the beneficiaries.

“Because of Covid, fund raising opportunities have been few and far between.

“Nevertheless, members have been keen to provide some support to Hope House albeit at a lower level than normal.”
