Councillors in Chirk have been assisting a local GP-led Covid-19 vaccination site in the town as it recently began vaccinating patients.

Around 10 councillors have been volunteering at Chirk Surgery, Castle Health Centre, to ensure those attending to receive their vaccination know where to go and what to do.

Councillor Gareth Baines was one of the councillors who volunteered, and gave a special mention to Councillor Jackie Allen for organising the volunteers.

He said: “We have signed up for regular volunteering as the surgery receives more doses from Welsh Government.

“All Councillors and other community volunteers thoroughly enjoyed supporting hard working surgery staff.

“Our older residents were delighted to be receiving their first vaccine.”
