Throughout lockdown, many of us have been missing the feeling of going out and enjoying a nice meal out.
But looking ahead to the rest of the year with optimism, we thought it would be a good idea to pick out 10 highly-rated Michelin Guide-recommended restaurants where you may want to pay a visit once Covid restrictions allow.
Oswestry has its very own restaurant recommended by the Michelin Guide, as well as a handful of others within driving distance just across the Welsh border, up to Whitchurch and further south into Shropshire.
Sebastians Restaurant, in Willow Street, features in the Michelin Guide, and can still be enjoyed in lockdown as a takeaway meal.
To find out if any of the 10 Michelin Guide-recommended restaurants are on your doorstep, just type in your postcode to the map below.
Two Welsh restaurants near to Oswestry which are also recommended in the Guide are The Seeds, in Llanfyllin, and The Hand at Llanarmon in the Ceiriog Valley.
There are also two in Whitchurch – Docket No.33 and Wild Shropshire.
We have pointed out The Haughmond and The Walrus as two must-visit Michelin Guide restaurants in Shrewsbury.
Also featured on the map are three Ludlow-based Michelin Guide restaurants – Charlton Arms, The French Pantry and Mortimers.
The guide features two other Ludlow-based restaurants with Forelles and Old Downton Lodge also listed.
