THE health board responsible for North Wales’ Covid-19 vaccine rollout programmes is calling for a stop to people using somebody else’s vaccination invitation to book an appointment.

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) has reported instances of people who are not yet eligible for vaccination, using the invitation of somebody else in order to receive the vaccine sooner.

The health board is currently focused on vaccinating the priority groups in order, starting with care home residents and carers, people over the age of 80 and health and social care workers.

People in the region are being reminded to only book an appointment once they have received their own, official invitation from the health board.

A BCUHB spokesman said: “We are aware of instances where people who are not yet eligible for a Covid-19 vaccine have used somebody else's invitation to book an appointment.

“Those that book an appointment for the vaccine using another person’s invitation will, and are being turned away.

“Please do not book an appointment for the Covid-19 vaccination unless you received an official invitation from the Health Board.

“We are only sending invites out to those who are eligible within the priority groups that we are vaccinating."
