THERE will be a temporary road closure in place from next month on the B4393 Canal Road at Four Crosses, Llanymynech

Powys County Council has submitted a public notice giving warning of the work, which can be seen on page 52 of this week’s edition.

The road closure will be in place from February 8 to March 22 as scaffolding is being put up in the carriageway to enable roofing work.

The council has also published notice that it is extending the bridleway closure for a stretch of Penygarreg in the Elan Valley, prohibiting pedestrians, cyclists and horse-riders from using it.

This closure will now be in place until July 28.

The reason for the closure is due to a landslip, to allow more site investigations to be undertaken before work starts there.

For details of an alternative route, see page 52.

As featured elsewhere in last week’s edition, there is also notice that the council has received the application for a holiday park to be built at Cwmhafren Field, Ael y Bryn, on the B4568 road between Caersws and Aberhafesp.

The development would be a mixture of caravans and chalets. The holiday park development would be for 35 holiday units in total, and also included vehicle access from the B4568 highway and drainage treatment plant.

If you wish to have your say on that application, see page 53 for more details.
