Volunteer drivers are needed to help take vulnerable residents in north Powys to their coronavirus vaccination appointments.

North Montgomeryshire Volunteer Bureau (NMVB) runs a Community Car Scheme that has been helping with transport and shopping and prescription deliveries in the Welshpool, Llanfyllin and Llanfair Caereinion areas.

But now it needs more drivers to help all the people who are asking for their support.

Libby Allison, NMVB Chair, said: "Many of our vulnerable residents do not have access to transport and rely on the Community Car Scheme to get them to essential appointments and the Covid vaccination could not be more important."

Volunteers will be offered the coronavirus vaccine, masks and sanitiser, as well as paid good expenses.

Drivers will also need to use their own cars to take people to appointments.
