The paradox of Britain’s liberal elite raising the importance of democracy

I SUPPORT the right of every man to his own opinion, however different it might be to mine.

He who denies to another this right, makes a slave of himself to his present opinion, because he precludes himself the right of changing it.’ – Thomas Paine

If you are one of those who voted to leave the EU, but now conclude you have made an error of judgment, now is the time to campaign to rejoin.

Unfortunately it may take 47 years to achieve this goal, four of it fighting against our representatives in the House of Commons.

Four years of tantrums we endured from our political class as they turned themselves inside out trying not to uphold democracy.

For four years we behaved with decorum and patience.

I saw democracy shamed last summer when BLM protestors rioted, damaged monuments and assaulted police officers.

The silence of the political class then was deafening.

I have a laissez-faire attitude toward President Trump, my opinion is that he is a fool; however he is America’s fool.

In the US, the rust belt voted for Trump for the same reasons many in the UK voted for Brexit. You can’t threaten people who have nowt, with more nowt.

This week, the same people I have observed trying to thwart a democratic vote in the UK, our liberal ‘elite’ media and celebs (Green Party MP Caroline Mucus, Labour MP David Lammy, Professor A.C. Grayling etc), paradoxically squeal about the importance of democracy in the USA.
