PLANS have been put forward to Shropshire Council to create residential and retail units in 5-9 Cross Street, Oswestry.
The plans are for the conversion of the upper three floors to provide10 residential units, reconfiguration of ground floor to create four retail units, the installation of replacement shop fronts; and all associated works.
The application has been submitted by Design and Planning Associates Ltd, based in Oswestry, on behalf of Ultrahaven Ltd.
The planning statement said: “With the retention of the ground floor charity shop, Nightingales, it is proposed to alter the internal layout of the ‘Little Mall’s’ ground floor retail space to accommodate shop units with toilet facilities.
“It is proposed that both the ground floor retail units will receive new shopfronts to enhance the existing building and improve the existing street scene.”
It added: “It is proposed to split up the floor spaces and to carry out necessary internal alterations to the upper floors such providing suitable residential flats.”
The closing date on the application is Monday, February 1 and anyone wishing to comment on the proposal should search 20/05387/FUL.
