PLANS have been put forward on how Wrexham and Flintshire residents can celebrate St David's Day this year.

Wrexham Council stated that every year, Menter Iaith organise their annual St David’s Day parade, who have now set out ways in which the public can still celebrate their culture and traditions as safely as possible due to Covid-19.

A spokesperson for the council, said: "There’s a whole range of activities you can submit to be shown on the day itself and everyone is invited to take part.

"For the St David’s Day Parade itself, Menter Iaith would like to receive video clips from all organisations, establishments, societies and communities of their members and/or staff marching.

"The clips will be edited and combined to create videos to start the celebrations and Cambria Band will also be filmed and recorded to create a powerful montage."

Participants can decide on the arrangements, whether to wear a Welsh costume, to carry Welsh Flags, a banner or to do it in small groups and outdoors.

They are leaving organisations, establishments, societies and communities to decide what is best for them but they encourage everyone to make it as safe as possible.

The spokesperson added: "There’s something for everyone in the wide range of activities above and that you look forward to taking part in this year’s celebrations.

"If you’re interested in taking part in any of the above let Menter Iaith know by January 20.

"All video clips, photos and results of the competitions and other activities will be on Menter Iaith’s social media between March 1-5."
