WE had high hopes for putting 2020 behind us and seeing in 2021 with renewed hope.
Starting the new year with a national lockdown and schools closing is not what we probably had in mind.
But Warrington businesses have been showing their fighting spirit while addressing their followers on social media.
Essential shops like greengrocers and chemists can stay open.
Other retailers can offer click and collect services and restaurants, pubs and cafes can do takeaway.
Some have made the difficult decision to close temporarily as they have not found the current situation to be financially viable.
But, even so, many businesses have been spreading messages of cautious optimism that will be back soon with brighter days to come.
Here are just some of them:
MORAN'S, WARRINGTON MARKET
CHAPELFORD FARM
BENTS, GLAZEBURY
PETIT FRANCAIS, WARRINGTON MARKET
TERRACE BISTRO, STOCKTON HEATH
CAFE AT THE END OF THE UNIVERSE, WARRINGTON MARKET
SNOUTWOOD TROTTERS, GREAT SANKEY
PJ'S, BRIDGE STREET
BUS STOP, STOCKTON HEATH
SPREAD EAGLE, LYMM
