ARGOS has confirmed that it is to vacant its current base on Mostyn Champneys Retail Park.

A spokesperson for the catalogue retailer said the landlord for their Llandudno store had given notice on the building.

It is understood, although not yet confirmed, the retailer will move to a new building in the town.

An Argos spokesperson told the Pioneer: “The landlord for our Llandudno store has given notice.

"We’re looking into other options for this site and will keep our colleagues and customers updated.”

In December, the Pioneer reported that Argos in Colwyn Bay had shut for good.

Sainbury’s, which owns the high street retailer, said it would close down its standalone stores that had not reopened since March 2020, as well as an extra 300 stores across the UK.

On the store locator section on the Argos website, stores still operating in the region - but adhering to current UK Covid restrictions - include Llandudno, Rhyl in Sainsburys and Bangor Argos.
