AS WE approach the end of what has been a year like no other, we saw it fitting to look back at some of the standout snaps submitted our Camera Club in 2020.

Once again we were sent hundreds of your best pictures throughout the year, with Camera Club members taking pictures from close to home, and as far away as Nepal.

We would like to thank all of our members for sharing pictures with us again – we are really grateful and hope to see more of your best shots in 2021.

The Camera Club had everything in 2020, from dogs to frogs and sunsets to astrophotography – it would not be possible to revisit them all, but here is a selection of some of your submissions from the past 12 months.

One of our favourite pictures this year was taken far away from Oswestry in south-Asia – Philip Trafalgar captured a brave local riding a motorbike across a suspended footbridge in Nepal, while a walker steps aside to allow him to cross.

A little closer to home, in Ellesmere, Jill Adger was in the right place at the right time to watch a stunning sunset light up the sky over the mere.

Pete Williamson shared several of his astrophotography shots with us throughout the year, with this one of the Helix Nebula in Aquarius being one of the standouts.

Another great picture was sent to us by Frederick Williams, who enjoyed a misty winter walk along a nearby canal earlier this year.

Also enjoying a walk in the countryside was Jan Gilchrist, who stopped to admire the views from the mountains near Llangollen.

A very friendly frog allowed Bruce Macdonald to get close enough to take a detailed shot, while Alex Nash's pup also posed for a picture.

Finally, Michelle Kelsall stopped to admire the beauty of nature with a picture of some flowers in front of the blue sky.
