A THERAPY support worker at Gobowen Hospital has been recognised for her dedication and commitment with a Health Hero Award.

Sandra Evans who works on the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries (MCSI) at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH), is the latest winner of the award after being nominated by her colleague Stuart Royce.

She is described by her colleagues as caring and professional to both patients and staff, and as a member of staff who always goes the extra mile.

Sandra was thankful for the nomination and was left speechless after being presented the award by chief nurse and patient safety officer Stacey Keegan.

Sandra said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Stuart for taking the time to nominate me; I’m honestly speechless and wasn’t expecting it all.

“I’m really lucky to work with a fantastic team and I’m accepting this Health Hero Award on behalf of the whole team.”

The Health Hero Award is presented to staff across the hospital for going above and beyond to support patients and colleagues.

Stacey said: “I am delighted to present Sandra with the latest Health Hero Award.

“Stuart’s nomination spoke volumes about Sandra’s dedication to our patients and how she consistently goes above and beyond to support them.

“I’d like to give her my congratulations.”
