LLANFYLLIN’S Christmas Market is back on – but with a difference.
A series of three daytime Saturday markets will be held in the run-up to Christmas to boost local trade.
Instead of holding one big, crowded evening event, town councillors have made plans to give stallholders the chance to sell their products in a safe, socially-distanced setting.
A maximum of 15 stalls selling locally-made food and crafts will be spread throughout town on Saturday, December 5, 12 and 19 from 8.30am to 2pm.
Pitches have recently been advertised and are already full for the first Saturday. Some are still available for the other days.
Deputy Mayor of Llanfyllin, Cllr Jane Carrington said: “2020 has been a difficult year financially for many people.
“We wanted to support local producers and craftspeople and do everything we could to give people the opportunity to buy local while keeping safe.”
There will be the usual ‘meet-the-town-councillors’ opportunity at the Public Institute during the markets.
To book a stall, costing £10, please email Llanfyllin.Christmas.Market@gmail.com
