THE body of a man has been found on a Flintshire river bank following a major search.

North Wales Police confirmed that the man's body was discovered by coastguard officers in the Connah's Quay area at 12.19pm on Sunday.

Police confirm a formal identification is yet to take place.

The Leader previously reported that a major search was launched over the weekend.

Flint Coastguard Rescue was called to assist the search.
