Golfers from Llanymynech Golf Club have raised over £5,000 for two important air ambulance charities.

The club, which is situated on the border of Wales and England, raised the funds from the Captains’ Drive In, charity golf competitions, charity auctions and many donations from the members at Llanymynech Golf Club.

The captains and president who picked the charities to benefit from the fundraiser are Nick Clewlow (Captain), Chris Wilkinson (Ladies Captain), Bryan Evans (Seniors Captain) and President Pete Ord.

The fundraising events raised £5,425.82, which will be split between the two lifesaving helicopter charities, Wales Air Ambulance and Midlands Air Ambulance.

One of the captains, Nick Clewlow, said: “The Captains and President at Llanymynech Golf Club choose the two air ambulances as the charities that they would raise funds for in 2019.

"We raised in total £5,425.82 which is being split between the Wales and Midlands Air Ambulance, £2,712.91 each, because we have members of the golf club that live in both England and Wales with us being on the border.”

The Wales Air Ambulance’s South Wales Fundraising Manager, Mark Stevens, said: “Thank you so much to everyone who took part in the fundraising events. It is heart-warming to hear that Llanymynech Golf Club has chosen to split the funds between two important charities which serve their area.

"Thank you to everyone who donated. Your support, as always, is much appreciated.”
