OWNERS of a Chirk restaurant which has been put forward for a prestigious national award have thanked the community for its support.
The Stanton House Inn is one of 10 nominations put forward for the Best of Welsh Business Award in the restaurant category.
Mark and Chelly Jones, who run the pub in Holyhead Road, have received praise throughout the year after offering help to those in need in their community during lockdown in Wales.
The pair have thanked those who nominated them for the award and described it as an honour.
Chelly said: “I received an email saying someone had nominated us, which I assume was one of our customers.
“And that’s all we know – we’ve let our friends and customers know on Facebook.
“The fact that someone has taken their time to nominate us is a privilege.
“We’re a small village and community, and the customers we get at our pub here are like a big family.
“It’s an honour really.”
Both Mark and Chelly praised the support of the community which has helped them throughout the year.
Chelly added: “We do a lot for the community, but without the community, Stanton House wouldn’t be Stanton House.
“We support them and they support us.”
