CORONAVIRUS continues to put a halt on events right across the UK, but that has not stopped residents in Wrexham from celebrating Halloween.

Halloween is looking a little different this year due to new regulations and Welsh Government's 'fire-break' urging people to stay at home.

Residents were urged to get creative and come up with new and innovative ways to celebrate the event.

Alexandra Maguire Rippon transformed her home in two weeks on Earnest Parry Road in Wrexham into a spooktacular haunted house.

Her home has been taken over by ghouls and ghosts and she told the Leader she has been doing so for 15 years.

She said: "I try to put a smile on people's faces and to see all the kids pass and look at it makes my day."

Jacqui Hickey has also turned her business into a freaky haunted factory.

The Swann Inn in Rhostellyn brought an early Halloween to its customers earlier this month.

Jacqui said: "The customers love it and it brings a smile to the locals faces. Anything to brighten a day in these times and our statues are the only thing allowed to stand at the bar. They make spooky customers

"It was just to create a little bit of normality."
