A WHITCHURCH teenager has seen her photography featured on the front cover of a new book highlighting poets and storytellers from the US and Britain.

Chlöe Edwards, 19, who is studying for a BA in Education at the University of Chester's Riverside campus has developed a hobby in photography and her candid pictures have now twice caught the eyes of the Wolverhampton based editor and publisher, Nic Outterside.

Last year her photo of an old rural red telephone box, taken while she was on holiday in Devon, formed the stunning cover for one of Nic's previous books.

Another of Chlöe's pictures, also taken in Devon, forms the front cover of the poetry anthology Western Skies.

Whitchurch Herald:

Chlöe also has a selection of other black and white photographs displayed throughout the book.

Western Skies includes the work of contributors from places as diverse as Oklahoma, Oregon, Cumbria and Norfolk.

Chlöe said she was delighted to see her work once again feature on the front cover of a book.

"This whole experience has been amazing from start to finish," she said. "I couldn't believe that two quick edited snaps could go so far as to form covers for two fabulous books.

"It has been a real confidence boost and has shown me what an amazing tool social-media is too.

"And to be part of this project has been brilliant.

"To be involved with writers from so many different backgrounds and parts of the world has been a real revelation.

"I am so proud of what we have put together across so many miles."

Meanwhile Nic added: "Chloe is such a talented photographer with an eye for a truly unique picture.

"Everyone involved has already had their work previously published in some form.

"Adding Chloe's brilliance to the mix seemed the natural thing to do.

"Western Skies is truly wonderful and sets a new benchmark for any book which now follows."

The book is available as a large format paperback book and a Kindle e-book version will be available later this month.
