New to Netflix, Enola Holmes is a witty mystery drama focusing on the life of Enola, (Millie Bobby Brown) sister of famed detective Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill).

After her mother disappears, she is thrown into a world of adventure and crime as she struggles to fit in with the rest of her family.

Throughout the film, there is a constant use of fourth wall breaks.

The movie doesn’t just tell a story, it involves you in it and takes you on a journey. It is fun, face-paced and engaging, with non-stop excitement.

Brown is superb in this role. Enola is a fully developed, complex character who she plays perfectly. The on-screen interactions between Enola and Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge) are realistic and endearing.

Both the costuming and set design throughout are gorgeous.

The colours are vibrant and aesthetically pleasing with the cinematography making each individual shot beautiful.

It’s a wonderfully likeable film with a strong message aimed at young women.

It is inspiring and explores the difficulties of being a young girl and not getting enough credit.

The fourth wall breaks feel out of place with the rest of the film as it has some more mature scenes.

If you are looking for an entertaining crime drama, Enola Holmes is perfect for you.
