ELLESMERE Rangers' derby match with St Martins scheduled for Tuiesday night (tonight) has been cancelled because of a potential positive Covid-19 test for the home side.
The North West Counties Football League First Division South pair were set to clash at Beech Grove as their season continues its belated start.
But in a tweet put out by St Martins on Tuesday night, they confirmed the match was postponed as a precautionary measure.
It said: "This evenings Shropshire derby against Ellesmere Rangers has been called off due to a suspect (sic) Covid-19 case.
"We wish any Ellesmere player with suspected Covid-19 a speedy recovery."
