A MAN was taken to hospital after a collision with a vehicle in Oswestry town centre on Tuesday afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) was called to the junction of Willow Street and Welsh Walls by West Mercia Police at 12.39pm.

The ambulance service received reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

A land ambulance attended the incident, while a Midlands Air Ambulance from Tatenhill landed at Cae Glas Park.

A spokesman for WMAS confirmed the patient received treatment on the scene for injuries not believed to be serious. He was later taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by land ambulance.
