PLAYERS and officials as Llanymynech Golf Club have raised thousands of pounds for vital air ambulance charities.

The club, which is famously split between England and Wales, held their traditional charity fundraising events, led by captains' days among others, and also took in plenty of donations.

Nick Clewlow, who is the men's captain for this year, says the club raised more than £5,000 for two charities that provide vital air ambulance services and thanked all those played their part.

He said: "The captains – myself and Chris Wilkinson – and Nick Ord, the president at Llanymynech Golf Club, chose the Air Ambulance as their charity who they would raise funds for in 2019.

"We raised in total £5,425.82 which is being split between the Wales and Midlands Air Ambulance at £2,712.91 each.

"The money was raised from the Captains Drive In, charity golf competitions, charity auctions and many donations from the members at Llanymynech Golf Club."
