WHITCHURCH Museum and Archives will once again open to the public later this month with new exhibits to visit.
The museum had been closed for more than six months with the outbreak of Covid-19, but new rules have been put in place to allow visitors to safely explore the archives.
Initially the museum will open for one day a week, beginning Thursday, October 15 from 11am until 4pm.
Visitors to the museum will enter through St Mary's street and exit via the rear doors, but other measures are being put in place, as Judith Hoyle from the museum explains.
"There are new displays and some recent acquisitions to admire," she said. "Also new free leaflets have been produced during lockdown and a First World War Gallantry book is available to purchase.
"In order to protect both the public and the volunteers strict rules will be in place.
"All visitors will be required to wear masks within the building and put on a pair of new gloves which will be supplied.
"They will also need to provide details for NHS Track and Trace as well as following a one-way system and keep appropriate social distances from others.
"Unfortunately there can be no exceptions, regardless of age and medical condition."
