A PREP school in Weston Rhyn has announced it has a new headteacher.
John Bond is set to take over as the new headteacher of the prep school at Moreton Hall from April 2021.
His appointment coincides with the school’s 20th anniversary year.
Mr Bond, who grew up in Cornwall and has taught in both the state and private sector, is currently deputy head academic at Hatherop Castle Prep School.
Through a teaching career spanning 20 years, John has gained a range of academic and pastoral experience in roles such as head of boarding and director of studies.
Mr Bond says he is looking forward to joining the school’s community.
He said: “I so enjoyed my time at the school and received such a warm welcome to the Prep.
“My wife and I are very much looking forward to joining the Moreton community and to meeting pupils, parents and staff over the coming months.
“I’m committed to continuing to foster the nurturing environment the school is renowned for alongside providing a broad and first-rate academic education.”
Moreton Hall’s Principal, George Budd, is pleased to be welcoming Mr Bond to the school.
He said: “John showed a real warmth and care for young people throughout the interview process and immediately felt at home with our pupils and staff.
“Everyone who met John felt he was the ideal fit for our Prep.”
