A TEENAGER was airlifted to hospital in a 'critical condition' after collapsing at Ellesmere Rangers on Wednesday evening.

The medical emergency was reported at 7.16pm, with two land ambulances, a paramedic officer and the air ambulance from Welshpool attending the scene.

On arrival a bystander had alread initiated CPR and paramedics took over before airlifting the teenager to Alderhay Children's Hospital for further treatment.

A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service explained the situation.

“We were called at 7.16pm [Wednesday} night to reports of a medical emergency at Ellesmere Rangers Football Club," they said.

"Two land ambulances, a paramedic officer and the air ambulance from Welshpool attended the scene.

"On arrival, crews found one patient, a teenage boy, in a critical condition, with good bystander CPR already in progress.

"Crews took over in administering advanced life support on scene before the child was airlifted to Alderhay Children’s Hospital for further treatment.”
