FANCY owning an historic and abandoned Grade II listed Georgian manor in Powys? Well now is your chance.

Calcott Hall, near Four Crosses, also known as 'Red Dress Manor' has gone on the market with Righmove for £700,000.

The six-bedroom country house dates back to the 1700's, but was abandoned in the 1970's with the death of its owner leaving behind many belongings which remain inside at the property to this day.

A red picture of a woman in a red dress can be found in the property, where someone has also placed a red dress hanging inside, which adds some eeriness.

It has become a popular attraction for urban explorers in recent years, and in July, a planning application for the site was submitted by agents Roger Parry and Partners seeking to create a sympathetic renovation.

Powys County Council planners will decide on those proposals at a later date.

The description on the Rightmove website states: "A Grade II listed Georgian country hall with traditional u-shaped brick barns set in surrounding countryside.

"The property extends to 2.37 acres. The property is currently within the planning process to renovate the Hall and convert the traditional barns to up to seven residential units. The hall is in need of complete renovation and offers tremendous potential for a purchaser to restore it to its former grandeur.

"A further 36 acres of prime agricultural land with fishing rights along the river Vyrnwy is available to purchase by separate negotiation."
