The MP for Clwyd South paid a visit to a Chirk restaurant last week to congratulate them on picking up an award from TripAdvisor.

Simon Baynes MP visited Castle Bistro in Church Street to meet staff, from a safe distance, and praise them for their efforts which helped them to win a Travellers’ Choice Award.

Each year, TripAdvisor look through reviews to pick out the top 10 per cent of restaurants and eateries, and recognise them with the awards.

The bistro, which was established in 2016, received the award for consistently earning great reviews from visitors and for being ranked within the top 10 per cent of hospitality businesses on TripAdvisor.

Mr Baynes met with Reza Noori of the restaurant and his staff, and described the work they have been doing as incredible.

“Reza and the whole team at Castle Bistro do an incredible job welcoming visitors to Chirk and making amazing meals,” he said.

“This Award is very well deserved. And it’s great to see one of our local Chirk businesses doing so well.

“I look forward to returning soon for a meal with my family.”

Mr Noori insisted he and his team were very proud to be recognised with the award, and gave thanks to those who have supported them along the way.

He said: “We’ve been incredibly proud to receive this award.

“And it’s great recognition of how hard all our staff have worked to make Castle Bistro an excellent place to come and enjoy a meal.

“I was very glad to catch up with Simon and tell him about some of our exciting plans going forward. And I want to thank all of our incredibly loyal customers for helping us get where we are.”

Mr Baynes was present when Castle Bistro took over Chirk Tandoori earlier this year, renaming it Castle Tandoori.

Both Castle Bistro and Castle Tandoori are open now and are taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme which was introduced by the government for the month of August.
