THE latest figures revealed by Public Health England reported today (Friday, August 7) show there have been no new coronavirus deaths reported at any Cheshire hospital in the past 24 hours.

This means the number of coronavirus deaths reported at Cheshire hospitals throughout the pandemic remains at 723.

It also means it is now 20 days since the last death at the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust occurred on July 18, which was announced by the trust two days later. A total of 227 people with coronavirus have died in the trust's hospitals.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 213 coronavirus deaths, East Cheshire NHS Trust 146, and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 137.

As of 4.21pm on Thursday, August 6, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Cheshire West and Chester stood at 2,057.

Across England, a further 10 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus have died in the latest 24-hour recording period, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,386.

None of the 10 deaths were reported in any North West hospital.

Patients were aged between 54 and 94 years old. All had known underlying health conditions.
