POLICE are warning of an increase in attempted dog thefts in Wrexham.
North Wales Police's Community Safety East team has issued the warning and is urging dog owners to keep their animal on a lead when out and to keep an eye on them when they're in the garden.
The team is also urging people to report any suspicious persons or vehicles.
A spokesperson said: "Reports of attempted dog thefts is on the increase in the Wrexham area.
"Please keep your dog on a lead when out and about and please keep observations on them when in the garden.
"Report any suspicious persons and vehicles - please raise awareness with other dog owners."
