NORTH Wales Police (NWP) have issued a warning to dog owners about thefts of pets across the region and Welsh and English border towns.
The police force has issued the warning following a recent incident in Gobowen.
A spokesman for the NWP Rural Crime Team issued the warning on Facebook after a number of incidents recently.
The post read: “We are warning the public about a number of recent dog thefts which appear to be occurring across Wales and our English borders. The most recent in Gobowen.
“Criminals are targeting valuable dogs for selling on as there has been a market for them during lockdown. Be aware.”
The incident in Gobowen saw three dogs stolen on Thursday night.
Owner of the stolen dogs, Keri Arbel, believes the dogs were stolen to order after the price of puppies had increased over lockdown.
Anyone with information related to the incident in Gobowen is urged to call Keri on 07854 146625 or call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting the crime number 10I31072020.
