FIREFIGHTERS from six towns have assisted with a reported train fire at Gobowen Station.
The incident was reported at 12.16pm on Friday, July 31 and crews from Ellesmere, Oswestry, Wem, Shrewsbury, Tweedale and Wellington were dispatched to deal with the incident.
Also at the scene of the incident was the Incident Command Unit and the Rescue Tender, as well as operations and safety officers.
The train's alarm activated in middle carriage of three carriages and all passengers on the train were evacuated by rail staff and the fire service.
No casualties were reported and crews used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.
Fire crews were on the scene for around 30 minutes before leaving.
