An ANNUAL event giving people in North Wales an insight into the work done by their police force has been postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The North Wales Police (NWP) Open Day, which was set to take place on Saturday, September 12, has been postponed until 2021.

It is usually one of the busier events in the NWP calendar, with large attendance levels.

Chief constable Carl Foulkes says it is disappointing to have to cancel this year’s event

He said: “Our Open Day is one of the highlights of the calendar for us and, based on past attendance levels, is for our communities too.

“A great deal of planning involving ourselves and partners goes into it, so to postpone the event has not been a decision that was taken lightly but has been done for the safety of everyone.

“We appreciate many will be disappointed, however all being well we will re-schedule for 2021 and we will look forward to welcoming visitors back to a bigger and better event.”
