A CHIRK hotel is planning on holding a party for NHS staff who stayed with them during the Covid-19 pandemic, once it is safe to do so.
The Hand Hotel, in Church Street, has been a temporary home for a number of NHS staff members working at local hospitals during the fight against Covid-19.
With hotel rooms used to house those fighting the virus on the frontline, it enabled them to work safely and eliminated the chance of them putting their family members at risk.
Manager at the hotel, Paul Rogers confirmed the last NHS staff member left the hotel last week and added that it was a pleasure to have so many hospital staff members staying at the hotel over the past four months.
“It’s been lovely actually,” he said.
“Pretty much everyone who has stayed with us has left a nice note, card or some gifts for the staff here which has been really nice for us all.
“In the future, once it is safe to do so, we’re hoping to have a bit of a get-together for all the NHS staff by getting them all back here and having a party for them.”
The hotel has also been awarded its AA Covid-19 Confident certificate.
