AN OSWESTRY church is offering a fun and safe way for children to enjoy the outdoors with a new treasure hunt trail.

The free event, organised by Hope Church, runs in the area until Sunday, July 12, allowing children to follow the trail in a safe manner while observing social distancing rules.

The route, which is roughly one-mile long, has been put together by Cat Davies, Hope Church’s youth and children’s worker.

A spokesman for the church has urged those who take part to stick to social distancing guidelines.

They said: “The route includes a couple of road crossings, some narrow paths and a little bit of uphill.

“Please follow social distancing guidelines while taking part in the treasure hunt.

“The first clue and some instructions can be found in the window of Hope church on Laburnum drive Oswestry.

“If you manage to follow the trial to the end and worked out the word from the clues you’ll find some treasure to take home.

“The idea was thought up by Angela Sampson and organised by Cat to give something for local families to take part in a safe and socially distanced way.”
