A KIND 10-year-old put her art and craft skills to use to support a cause close to her heart.

Ophelia Roach, 10, set out a stall outside her Gresford home to raise money for Almost Home Dog Rescue.

Selling decorated rocks, dog bandanas and loom band bracelets Ophelia raised £261.60 from generous villagers, many of them with their own dogs, passing by while out on their daily walks.

Mum Allison said: "Ophelia was worried that the dogs wouldn’t have enough to eat as the charity are unable to do their usual fundraising events.

"The road we are on is used a lot by people walking their dogs, even more at the moment. Everyone who came by had a look."

"She is over the moon at the amount raised and Lauren Sutton at Almost Home Dog Rescue confirmed that this would feed all the dogs in the kennels for around 20 week."

The All Saints Primary School pupil has built up a good relationship with Almost Home Dog Rescue. Both the family's dogs, Betty and Dolly, came from the Mold centre and, at Christmas, Ophelia had a similar sale that raised more than £100.
