A GOLFER who plays at Oswestry Golf Club managed to hit his third hole-in-one in the past 18 months last month.

It is a tough ask for a golfer to sink a shot in one just once during their playing days, but Dave’s latest effort was the fourth time he had managed to do so.

And as far as hole-in-one shots go, it was made even more difficult to achieve playing on hole number 12 at the time.

Despite being a par-three hole, with a total distance of 134 yards, Dave had to ensure he avoided to bunkers either side of the course leading up to the green, as well as a dip in terrain just beforehand.

An excellent strike through the ball was enough to miss all obstacles and find its way home to the flag.

It has been a great year-and-a-half on the course for Dave, who gave himself a nice birthday surprise when he turned 77 last year, as he hit his first of three recent hole-in-ones.

With golf courses now back open in England, he will now undoubtedly be looking to celebrate a fifth some time soon.
