THE Queen of Hearts in Murdishaw has become a beacon for generosity, fortitude, teamwork and pride in helping those in need during coronavirus with their home delivery service.
Proprietors Michelle and Barry have been helping the elderly and vulnerable since pandemic lockdown began in March and their aim of making sure residents are getting enough weekly food essentials and a few minutes' interaction with a volunteer delivery person is still as strong as they are now distributing around 60 parcels a day.
Although the country is slowly beginning to re-emerge from the lockdown, getting back into a regular routine is still on hold for the elderly and vulnerable residents in Runcorn, Frodsham, Helsby and Widnes.
A spokesperson for the Queen of Hearts said: "None of us know how long this uncertainty will last and The Queen of Hearts will continue striving to make a difference in our community until our lives can start to return to normal, but we can only do this with continued support."
Various companies throughout the area have joined in this donation movement and all those who have benefited from their big-hearted kindness have repeatedly voiced their emphatic thank yous for the assistance.

The next hurdle the pub/restaurant faces is to find companies who manufacture or distribute basic personal hygiene toiletries and cleaning products alongside anyone willing to donate UHT milk, pasta and pasta sauce, beans and rice packets. The Queen of Hearts regularly updates the Facebook page for the food items they are running low on which are normally in the weekly bags.
Mismarked or miscoded, underweight or trial sized, short dated or damaged boxes can also still be used as long as the product is safe.
