THE MP for Clwyd South has taken to social media to remind his constituents lockdown rules in Wales remain different to those in England.

Simon Baynes posted the update on social media on Monday, reminding people in the region to follow the advice of the Welsh Government, as opposed to instructions issued to residents in England by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford, reiterated the message to people living in Wales remains as 'Stay Home', despite the message in England being altered to 'Stay Alert' during Sunday’s announcement.

Mr Baynes repeated this message on Facebook: “The main points of advice on work and leisure here in Wales remain the same as yesterday. They have not changed.

“Stay home as much as possible, work from home if you can, limit contact with others, keep your two-metre distance and wash your hands.

“Self-isolate if you or anyone in your household has symptoms. People should only travel to Wales for work, not for leisure and holidays.”

Mr Johnson announced on Sunday night that air passengers arriving in the UK will be quarantined.

There were some minor changes announced to rules for those living and working in Wales, with exercise now permitted more than once a day – it must still be carried out locally.

Mr Drakeford also announced garden centres can re-open with social distancing measures in place, and local councils can begin planning to re-open libraries and waste and recycling centres with social distancing in place.
