A CASE of the coronavirus has been confirmed at a Wrexham care home.

An "aghast" Manor Park Residential Home in Holt confirmed the news in a statement on its Facebook page.

The care home has not confirmed the number of cases, or whether it's a member of staff or resident who has tested positive for the virus.

It says it has gone into "complete lockdown", with six members of staff staying inside the building.

It has thanked its staff and the public for its support, as well as Barton Road Garage for the donation it made of face masks and refreshments for staff and residents.

The care home's manager said in the statement: "Unfortunately this is an extremely sad update I have to post today, we do have COVID19 in Manor Park.

"We are aghast as to how it invaded us but its here, we are on complete lockdown, there are six staff staying inside the building and we will stay and look after our family until this is over.

"Our sincere thanks to Zoe for the visors, Andrea for the lovely cakes for staff which will go down well with our tea break, Barton Road Garage for the donation they have just made of masks pop and juice for staff and residents.

"A massive thanks to my staff Jane, Nola, Katie, Mercy, Kathrine and Jenny for giving up your family life outside to look after our family inside with me.

"I will keep you all updated and thank you again for your support."
