A POPULAR viewing point has been closed as too many people were stopping there during the coronavirus outbreak.
The viewpoint at Gwaenysgor, which overlooks Prestatyn, has been closed by Flintshire County Council.
Commenting on the closure, North Flintshire Police said: "Driving to visit the viewpoint is non-essential travel – it’s now closed please do not go there #StayHomeSaveLives #COVID19 #ProtectOurNHS."
The closure comes as North Wales councils and police are urging people not to travel to the region during the Easter holidays unless their journey is essential.
Temporary Assistant Chief Constable Nigel Harrison from North Wales Police said: “Our advice is do not travel into north Wales illegally. Moving around can easily accelerate the spread of the virus.
“The NHS and other key workers are doing an incredible job in keeping the public safe, but we ask you to consider that increasing the population of our area will place an unreasonable burden on them."
