FIRE crews from five different areas were called to tackle a fire involving two homes near Ruthin.

North Wales Fire and Rescue say they were called to the incident at Pwllglas at 4.14pm on Sunday.

A spokesperson said: "Crews from Ruthin, Corwen, Mold, Denbigh and Wrexham were called to a fire affecting two properties at Tan Y Bryn, Pwllglas, Ruthin at 16.14hrs yesterday (Sunday 5th April).

"A further statement will be released soon".

North Wales Police were also at the scene of the fire, which came to a halt at around 10pm.

At the time of the fire, a police spokesman added: “We were called at 4.33pm by colleagues from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service to assist in the Tan Y Bryn area of Pwllglas, where two houses were on fire.

“Officers are in attendance, and the matter is being dealt with by the fire service.”

The fire service are back at the scene investigating the cause of the blaze this morning.
