POLICE were thrilled to see rainbows displayed in Plas Madoc in support of NHS and emergency services workers.
PCSOs Abi Land and Jess Lloyd spotted the rainbows while on foot patrol in and around Plas Madoc today (April 1).
They tweeted: "Great to see a large number of rainbow pictures showing their support for our wonderful NHS staff as well as other emergency services and key workers like ourselves."
Officers on both the Wrexham town and rural teams have been chasing rainbows to bring a little colour into the lives of children stuck at home during the coronavirus crisis.
Officers are on regular foot patrols in Wrexham communities to keep people safe and urge people to stay at home.
But if they spot a rainbow in the window, they will try to stop and say hello - at a safe distance of course - to any children inside.
Sgt Matt Subacchi said: “We appreciate its hard for children and they want some contact with the outside world so when we can we will stop and say hello.”
Youngsters can draw their own rainbows, but North Wales Police has also created a colouring sheet and is encouraging children to colour them in and place them in their windows.
Copies can be downloaded from the North Wales Police website.
